Happy 2018!!! I hope you all had the best time celebrating! In honor of the New Year, let’s talk resolutions….
I have some mixed emotions about this… Let’s be real, just because it’s the beginning of a new year doesn’t mean that you are all of a sudden going to do a 180 on your life and become everything you’ve always wanted to be. But at the same time, the fresh start can be motivating to make some changes in your life that will ultimately help you feel happier, healthier, and sexier.
I have failed many, many, many times when setting resolutions. I’ve figured out that my goals in the past have been so intense, broad, and just not specific enough and so I always end up feeling overwhelmed and unmotivated. Some examples of ones I’ve had in the past are
“Lose 10 Pounds” “Eat Healthy” “Learn a new skill” All of those sound terrible, vague and just not fun at all.
Instead, try committing to a few small resolutions that are specific enough and will ultimately make you feel happier and more confident in your day to day life.
Tackling these small goals will build your self confidence and make you a little bit happier! That way, conquering long-term goals like losing weight, eating healthy and getting that promotion won’t seem so ambitious because you’ve already built up that confidenc
e in yourself! #hellyes
Here’s my list of New Years Resolutions that you won’t mess up by February
1. Pet More Dogs
Okay, this one is an absolute no-brainer. Dogs make you happy, so be happy more often and pet more dogs!
2. REFUSE to go to bed with makeup on
We all know that sleeping with your makeup on is the ultimate sin… And after doing a little research, it turns out it really is pretty damn terrible for you!
Apparently it breaks down the healthy collagen in your skin, which then causes fine lines and wrinkles and it clogs your pores while you sleep so you’re more susceptible to acne and breakouts.
Sleeping with mascara or eyeliner on can cause extreme irritation and not to mention that bacteria forms on the tiny hair particles and causes inflammation, which leads to little bumps on your eyelids! No fucking thank you!!!
So, if you keep forgetting or keep getting too tipsy to remember to wash your face completely before bed, at least keep some makeup remover pads in your night stand and give yourself a quick swipe before you pass out!
3. Wear more lingerie
There’s not much that will make you feel sexier and more confident than a set of lingerie. I’ve recently ordered a set on this crazy cheap website, and I swear I could hardly tell the set was $10…

4. Wear More Lipstick
Add some color to your everyday routine! It is literally the simplest way to step your game up.
5. Connect with Someone Once a Week
Honestly, for a lot of us, if we don’t make a conscious effort to check in on our friends, mentors and family members, it won’t happen consistently enough for you to get the most out of those relationships.
I asked one of my best friends how she keeps up with everyone and she let me in on her secret. She grabs her planner and writes the name of the person she will connect with that week. Whether that meet up is a coffee date, drinks, dinner, or a fun night out, she has to at least reach out to them and try to schedule something before she gets to cross it off her to-do list! She goes through about 3 months at a time, writing different names of friends, cousins, former co-workers, etc on the top of her weekly lists.
I know that this makes human connection seem like a chore, but she found that if she doesn’t remind herself then it just won’t happen and relationships are too important to not make them a priority!
6. Unfollow People Who Don’t Make You Happy
Whether it’s an annoying instagram model, your ex, or an old high school acquaintance who posts what she eats every day, time to unfollow!!! Bloop, goodbye, not in 2018!
7. Try 1 New Vegetable Every Month
So apparently there’s like a shit ton more vegetables than broccoli and spinach. Check this blog post from acalculatedwhisk for a list of crazy vegetables and how to make them actually edible! Let’s all try to eat more vegetables in 2018, no matter how painful that may be,
Check it out here: 7 Uncommon Vegetables
8. Stretch Before Bed
This is literally so simple and makes such a difference! Besides increasing your muscles’ strength and flexibility, stretching before bed will relax your body and help you get ready for quality sleep.
Here’s a routine I try to follow: Bedtime Stretch Routine
New Years Resolutions should be fun, simple, and make you feel good!! Try not to put so much pressure on yourself and just have fun with it.
